SiTime jitter cleaners and network synchronizers consolidate multiple clock ICs into a single device and deliver low jitter and fast hitless switching to ensure redundancy for IEEE 1588, synchronized Ethernet (syncE) and high-speed SerDes. For designers seeking a complete clock-system-on-a-chip, the Cascade™ MEMS-based clocks integrate SiTime’s third generation ApexMEMS™ resonator that eliminates the dependency on quartz, along with all quartz related issues. This integrated MEMS approach, combined with low noise and a feature-rich PLL IC, enable more robust system timing for high reliability systems.

MEMS Jitter Cleaners

Cascade™ MEMS-based jitter cleaners feature 4 Frac-N PLLs with an integrated VCO and loop filter, flexible input-to-output frequency translation from 1 input to 10 outputs, wide frequency range from 8 kHz to 2.1 GHz, and a rich set of programmable features in a small 9 x 9 mm package. By integrating the MEMS resonator, these devices enable designers to create a clock-system-on-a-chip and eliminate all quality and reliability issues associated with traditional quartz-based clocks.

  • Always-accurate clock synthesis by eliminating crystal capacitive mismatch
  • Always-reliable startup even at cold temperature and other harsh environmental conditions

Jitter Cleaners

SiTime jitter cleaners feature up to 4 fractional PLLs, flexible input-to-output frequency translation with 4 inputs to 10 outputs, up to 12 outputs, wide frequency range, and a rich set of programmable features in small QFN packages. 

  • Low 85 fs integrated jitter minimizes bit error rate and increases design margin 
  • When combined with a MEMS oscillator, quartz-related issues are eliminated including jitter degradation because of noise coupling onto a crystal interface, activity dips/frequency jumps and vibration sensitivity

Cascade™ MEMS-based network synchronizers features 4 independent time domains, 1 mHz to 4 kHz programmable loop bandwidth and DCO mode with 50-ppt resolution to frequency, and phase recovery from syncE and IEEE 1588. These devices also come with 4 Frac-N PLLs with an integrated VCO and loop filter, flexible input to output frequency translation, wide frequency range, and a rich set of programmable features in a small 9 x 9 mm package. By integrating the MEMS resonator, these devices enable designers to create a clock-system-on-a-chip and eliminate all quality and reliability issues associated with traditional quartz-based clocks.
