October 19 - The “R&D 100 Award” is annually awarded to the developers of new products that represent the greatest improvement in technology of that year. There are 16 categories awarded each year and this is the 44th year of the awards presentation. According to R&D, “winning an R&D 100 Award provides a mark of excellence known to industry, government and academia as proof that the product is one of the most innovative ideas of the year.” Awardees receive special recognition in the September 2006 edition of R&D Magazine and are invited to attend a gala awards banquet in celebration of the award. In addition to the banquet celebration winners will be show casing their products throughout the day. The Exhibit hall at Chicago's Navy Pier is open to the public and media, and should be an exciting opportunity to view the 100 of the most innovative technology ideas and inventions of 2006.
What: R&D 100 Awards About SiTime SiTime Corporation is developing MEMS Silicon resonators and related products. The MEMS First TM process licensed from Robert Bosch GmbH has removed the technical barriers preventing wide acceptance of this quartz replacement technology. The first oscillator product with excellent stability, low phase noise, and a programmable frequency range is due to sample in Q1’06 and will be suitable for consumer, automotive, and industrial timing applications.
