SiTime and Micro Crystal Enter MEMS Oscillator Joint Development Agreement
Collaboration Will Result in New Products for Use in Numerous Timing Application

Sunnyvale, Calif. - November 13, 2006 – SiTime, a privately held Silicon Valley startup bringing the first MEMS-based, all silicon timing solutions to market, and Micro Crystal, a European leader in the frequency control market, have begun a strategic partnership to develop, promote, and distribute next-generation MEMS First™ and EpiSealTM oscillator products.

SiTime introduced its first MEMS-based silicon oscillator product to the market in April 2006 using proprietary processing technology licensed from Robert Bosch GmbH.  This unique technology, married with advanced mixed signal ASICs, has enabled SiTime to provide timing system solutions that are smaller, exhibit higher functionality, are more reliable, and are more cost competitive than the quartz solutions that have dominated electronic timing applications up to this time.  These silicon-based solutions, which leverage established semiconductor processing technology, are targeted at high performance and cost conscious applications in a broad spectrum of markets including consumer electronics, automotive, computer and industrial.  MEMS-based SiTime devices are already replacing quartz-based frequency standards in a number of consumer products.

“We are pleased to enter this long-term partnership with SiTime.  Their advanced MEMS technology, coupled with Micro Crystal’s long history of innovation in the frequency control market, will result in new products of a size, performance, and reliability that will be unmatched in the industry.  These technical advantages will be enhanced by Micro Crystal’s quality service to our customers”, said Hans Rudolf Gottier, CEO of Micro Crystal.

“It is an honor for SiTime to partner with such a well-established and world-renowned quartz company  to bring this new MEMS resonator technology to market.  We look forward to this joint product development with Micro Crystal to meet the next-generation frequency control requirements of the electronics industry.  As Micro Crystal is part of the Swatch group of companies, they are uniquely positioned to take full advantage of the many features of these new resonators”, said Kurt Petersen, CEO of SiTime Corporation.

SiTime has pursued a strategy of cooperation, joint development, and partnership with a very select group of market leaders in the quartz industry to expedite the roll out of MEMS First™ and EpiSealTM resonator technology to ensure high quality, reliability, and performance, leading to market acceptance of MEMS resonators as a mainstream, high-volume frequency control technology.

About SiTime
SiTime Corporation is developing MEMS Silicon resonators and related products. The MEMS First process licensed from Robert Bosch GmbH has removed the technical barriers preventing wide acceptance of this quartz replacement technology. The first oscillator product with excellent stability, low phase noise, and a programmable frequency range is due to sample in Q1’06 and will be suitable for consumer, automotive, and industrial timing applications. SiTime’s primary investors are Greylock, NEA venture capital firms and Robert Bosch GmbH. More information about SiTime is available online at www.sitime.com or www.sitime.jp

About Micro Crystal
Founded in 1978 in Grenchen, Switzerland, as a producer of watch crystals, MICRO CRYSTAL has become the leading supplier of miniature quartz crystals for virtually every kind of electronic appliances.  Today the three plants in Switzerland, Thailand and China, with more than 850 employees, produce several hundred million crystals per year and have the reputation as an extremely flexible and reliable source for quality frequency-control products.  MICRO CRYSTAL is ISO 9001 certified since 1998 and ISO 14001 certified since 2005.  The entire quartz production process is completely controlled by MICRO CRYSTAL, from the wafer manufacturing, the photolithographic batch process to the finished and tested parts in SMD metal- or ceramic-packages.  The high-precision photolithographic process enables MICRO CRYSTAL to produce sub-miniature tuning fork and high frequency AT-cut crystals covering a wide range from 10kHz to 250MHz.
These products are used in a variety of markets including telecommunications, medical electronics, consumer, automotive, computer and watch industries.  A worldwide sales network, supported by local technical and commercial staff, provides the best possible support to the customers.
