Extreme Reliability
With 500 million hours MTBF and <2 FIT (failures in time), SiTime oscillators have reliability ratings that are at least twice as good as other semiconductor-based oscillators and 13 to 40 times better than quartz.

Superior Performance under Noisy Conditions

| Tests show that SiTime oscillators are unaffected by EMI exposure while the phase jitter in competing oscillators jumps significantly. |
Silicon MEMS oscillators outperform other oscillators in harsh, noisy environments. High performance applications operate under stressful conditions in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI), vibration and noise from power supplies or other system components. This puts greater demands on the clock and can negatively impact the performance of oscillators. Most oscillators subjected to environmental stressors will degrade and not conform to datasheet specifications. In contrast, SiTime oscillators are unaffected by EMI.

Vibration can degrade the performance of some oscillators and induce spurious phase noise. SiTime oscillators are less sensitive to vibration and exhibit much lower levels of vibration spurs compared to other oscillators. Built-in Reliability
The superior reliability and resiliency of SiTime oscillators is achieved through the design and durability of silicon MEMS combined with optimally designed oscillator circuits.
SiTime’s MEMS Advantage
SiTime developed the MEMS FirstTM process, in which resonators are fully encapsulated in silicon within a micro-vacuum chamber. The combination of very small size and silicon crystal structure makes SiTime resonators extremely durable.
SiTime’s Analog Advantage
Optimally designed analog circuits deliver higher performance in noisy conditions. SiTime’s oscillator architecture integrates key components that enable higher performance and reliability, including a finely tuned silicon MEMS resonator, oscillator sustaining circuit, high precision fractional-N phase locked loop (PLL), and drivers with fully differential circuits.
Quality Management and Reliability Reports
SiTime’s Quality Management System (QMS) is based on the ISO 9001:2008 standard. All SiTime products are designed and produced using our robust 6-Sigma processes. Products are fully characterized and qualified according to JEDEC and AEG standards. SiTime performs lot acceptance testing (LAT) over the temperature range on a sample from each production lot.
