Sergey's role at Rusnano is to oversee and manage venture / private equity investments on a global arena. Sergey Polikarpov joined Rusnano as Managing Director in 2007. Prior to Rusnano, Sergey worked for Interros, one of the largest Russian industrial groups, on hydrogen / fuel cell projects. He also served on the board of Plug Power (Interros owned a major stake in the US company), a leader in fuel cell manufacturing. Before Interros, Sergey was Head of Investor Relations at Norilsk Nickel, the largest Russian mining company. He played a key role in the acquisitions of Polyus Gold and Stillwater Mining (US) by Norilsk Nickel. Sergey started his career as Research Analyst at Renaissance Capital, a leading Russian investment bank, in 1996 and later continued as Investment Banker at LV Finance before joining Norilsk Nickel in 2001. Sergey holds a Master’s degree from Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
